CHOCOLATE ORANGE LOAF CAKE

Ingredients:

For the sponge

200 g butter or baking spread

200 g caster sugar

2 teaspoons orange extract

4 eggs large

1 tablespoon Milk

175 g self-raising flour

25 g cocoa powder

¼ teaspoon baking powder

½ Terry’s chocolate orange chopped up – optional

For the buttercream

150 g butter or baking spread

275 g Icing sugar

25 g Cocoa powder

1 teaspoon orange extract

1 ½ tablespoons Milk

For decoration

½ a Terry’s Chocolate Orange

Orange sprinkles optional

Directions:

Prepare the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.

Apply baking spray in a 2-pound loaf tin.

In a mixing bowl, add butter and caster sugar. Stir until well mixed.

Add eggs, milk, and orange extract. Stir until well blended.

Add flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Whisk until well mixed.

Add the Terry’s Chocolate Orange and stir until well mixed.

Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf tin, and spread it evenly.

Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for an hour or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.

Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely at room temperature.

For the Buttercream:

Add butter, icing sugar, and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl. Beat until well combined.

Add milk and orange extract. Beat until well mixed.

Transfer the mixture into a piping bag.

Pipe the buttercream over the cooled cake and spread it evenly.

Decorate the cake whatever you like with the rest of the Terry’s Chocolate Orange pieces and sprinkles.

Serve and enjoy!
